Adorned with an enormous, ornate chandelier, an extraordinary wine list, freshly cup flowers, immaculately hospitable wait staff and an extravagant menu this was not just a restaurant for eating a meal but rather a haven in which you could leave your worries behind.
The Mayfair’s owners were great lovers of jazz and insisted that a duo perform each night.
Daimon Brunton and Nathan Liow performed together countless times over the course of The Mayfair’s brief but glorious existence sticking only to jazz standards from the American Songbook.
Some special music had been born and after The Mayfair sadly closed its doors the decision was made to record this special time of sublime swingin’ tunes.
